20250502 250-Mile Ruck March Media Advisory FINAL
In celebration of the Army’s 250th birthday, a 250-mile ruck march will start May 7th at Camp Roberts, and end May 11th in Dublin.
The event is a multi-installation partnership, open to the military, veterans, as well as civilians. The march is divided into 5-mile legs, and participants can choose to participate in more than one leg.
The march will highlight the history of the U.S. Army’s presence in the state of California. First starting at Camp Roberts, through Fort Hunter Liggett, and through California’s “salad bowl.”
There are four major milestones in the ruck march, which will consist of an official army flag hand-off ceremony between Garrison commanders.
The kickoff will be Wednesday, May 7th at 6:30 am at Camp Roberts, San Miguel.
