Effective today, Atascadero Fire and Emergency Services is closing the burn season.
Fire chief Casey Bryson announcing the closure yesterday. He says, “Due to the large amount of rain and then the rapid increase in temperature and windy conditions, it caused the grasses to dry out quickly, causing an increased fire danger.”
Residents are encouraged to utilize the green waste recycling program through Atascadero Waste Alternatives.
