The Paso Robles Bearcats back on the running course Saturday. The boys and girls cross country teams run against teams from San Luis Obispo high school Saturday at Los Osos middle school.
The Bearcat girls team lost to the Tigers 25-30. But Charlotte Castelli finished second, and the younger Bearcat runners did well overall.
The San Luis boys won 16 to 47, but Bearcat junior Cameron le Clair heroically out kicked a couple Tiger runners to prevent a Tiger sweep of the top five places. The Bearcats run this Saturday at Righetti high school in Santa Maria.
The Templeton Eagles cross country teams ran against Nipomo Friday. Josh Bell won the 2.5 mile race in 11 minutes 55 seconds. That’s a pace of 4.46 per mile. The boys won 25-31.
Maddie Bobbit won the girls race, in 15.01, which is a six minute pace. The Eagles lost 26-30.
