In Ocean City Maryland, a bystander jumps off a highway bridge to rescue a two year old child who had been thrown into the water because of a traffic accident involving five vehicles. The 2-year-old girl remains in stable condition. She was ejected from a pick up truck with her car seat, and landed in the water. Police say a witness who was in a vehicle just behind the vehicles jumped from the bridge into the water, and rescued the child in the bay.
In Europe, a farmer moves a rock and changes the 200-year-old border between Belgium and France. The farmer was annoyed by stones in his field marking the border. He moved a rock about 7 feet so his tractor could get through. As a result, a Belgian village has grown by 7 feet. And a French town shed more than a few inches. An historian waling along the border noticed the stone had moved, changing the demarcation.
