The heir to the Dutch throne says she will not accept her allowance when she turns 18.
Princess Amalia is scheduled to receive 1.6 million euros, which is about 1.9 million dollars per year.
She says that she feels uncomfortable in light of what other students her age are dealing with in this time of covid. So she will return the money to the state when it’s automatically deposited in her account.
She actually receives only about 300 thousand euros or $375 thousand dollars a year. The other 1.3 million euros cover staff costs and other expenses.
