Early Sunday morning, a car smashed into the Lewis avenue bridge near Capistrano road.
The collision occurred around 2:00 am early Sunday morning. Traveling northbound on Lewis avenue, the car smashed into the bridge and overturned a planter and damaged some railing, but caused no structural damage.
The driver was transported to a local hospital with head injuries and a broken nose.
