Today, the county clerk’s office may finally begin counting ballots in the recount. Fair Elections Advocate Darcia Stebbins is watching the process. Darcia says she has concerns about the disorganization by the county clerk’s office.
You may remember, challenger Dr. Bruce Jones pulled within 37 votes of supervisor Bruce Gibson, then the clerk’s office abruptly stopped counting for two weeks.
During that time, a box of ballots turned up in the Katcho Government Center. Now, they’re calling that manifestation a spreadsheet error.
Regardless, the final tally gave supervisor Bruce Gibson a victory by 13 votes.
The actual counting of ballots in the recount begins today at the elections office.
