May 4th through the 10th is wildfire preparedness week for 2025.
This year, Cal Fire is underscoring the responsibility of individuals, communities, and agencies to help build a more fire resilient California under the theme: “Building a fire-ready future: strengthening our defenses, together.”
Californians are urged to develop and practice a wildfire action plan, so they are ready when a wildfire strikes, pack a ‘go bag’ and be ready to evacuate, focus on defending the first five feet around their home, and harden structures against flying embers.
These steps, among others, can be taken to help build a more wildfire resilient California.
