Former Cal Poly student, Charles Hojaboom, has been sentenced to serve 6 years and 2 months in state prison for crimes committed in 2023 regarding a firearm. The DA’s office says this stems from four separate shooting incidents that took place on Cal Poly’s campus between June and November 2023.
The DA’s office says an incident in October involved Hojaboom firing a bolt action rifle inside of his dorm room, through the ceiling, and into the dorm room directly above. Hojaboom plead no contest to several criminal charges involving a firearm, gross negligence, vandalism, and possession of a loaded firearm on a college campus.
Hojaboom has served time in county jail since he committed his crimes, and will be transported to state prison to begin serving the remainder of his sentence.
