Pioneer Day in Paso Robles a big success over the weekend. Dozens of antique tractors rolling down Spring street as well as high school bands from Atascadero and Paso Robles high schools.
Those who attended agreed it was great to have Pioneer Day back, after a year’s absence.
The weekend also saw the 70th class reunion for the Paso Robles high school class of 1951. They watched the parade then made a trip to the Carnegie museum to admire the exhibits, and a cheerleaders uniform worn by Norma Moye back in the year 1951. Stanley Stevens helped track down his classmates. He said eleven attended the parade.
Stevens remembers working at the Paso Robles Inn back in the late 40’s. His dad had a photo studio in the Paso Robles Inn.
The class of 51 had a barbecue at the home of John and June Bertoni. John recently celebrated his 89th birthday.
The classmates also talked about reuniting in five years for the 75th anniversary for the class of 51.
