The Atascadero public works department says that construction has begun for the replacement of lift station #13, located between El Camino Real and Orillas way.
Construction for the existing lift station began on April 9th, and is an important improvement to the city’s wastewater collection system, with the lift station and force main nearing maximum capacity. Installation of the new force main will begin today, starting on Traffic way near Orillas way, and then proceeding north.
During construction, Traffic way will be reduced to a single lane between Orillas way and Potrero road. When construction reaches north of Potrero road, Traffic way is expected to be closed one block at a time with detours in place.
Pavement and reconstruction of Traffic way is a part of this project, and residents and businesses can expect to be allowed access to their driveways throughout the project with expected delays.
