The county board of supervisors will be holding a hearing during its regular meeting on January 27, 2026 regarding Immigration and Customs Enforcement access to individuals.
The notice for this public forum mentions the Truth Act, a 2016 California law regarding federal immigration policy enforcement. The law requires a local law enforcement agency to provide a consent forum, and explain the purpose of, an interview with an ICE agent to an individual in custody regarding civil immigration violations.
The bill also requires that local law enforcement agencies provide copies of specified documentation received from ICE to the individual, and notify the individual regarding the intent of the agency to comply ICE requests.
If you cannot attend the public hearing on January 27th in person, you can watch online.
