A bar in downtown San Luis Obispo was caught selling alcohol to minors in an undercover operation conducted with the San Luis Obispo police department and California department of Alcohol Beverage Control.
Officers entered four licensed businesses, acting as patrons, and observing whether the businesses checked identification at points of entry, and the service of alcoholic beverages to individuals that appeared younger than 21 years old. In one location, F. Mclintockâs on Higuera street, officers observed four individuals who they believed to be under the age of 21 consuming alcoholic beverages. The four individuals were detained, and all were found to be minors. All four were cited, and police conducted a follow-up investigation with business staff.
The case will be forwarded to the California department of Alcohol Beverage Control for further consideration of criminal and/or administrative actions filed against the employees and business.
