Yesterday was a national holiday to honor the memory of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. It’s a day to remember the teachings of the great civil rights leader and orator, Dr. Martin Luther King.
In Paso Robles several hundred people gathered at the downtown city park to honor Dr. King’s memory. Chaplain Kenneth Parish of New Light Missionary Baptist Church in Paso Robles told attendees he felt the teachings of Dr. King continue to resonate.
After the opening ceremony, there was a march traveled from the city park along Spring street to 14th street and concluded back at the park. The theme of this year’s celebration, ‘The Power of Love, Starting a Chain Reaction’.
Thursday, there will also be a celebration at Paso Robles high school. That’s invitation only.
