Susannah Luthi is a Templeton native and the West Coast reporter for the Washington Free Beacon, an independent investigative news site based in Washington, D.C. A Templeton High School graduate, Susannah had her first newspaper job at the Paso Robles Press one summer when a Classics student at Hillsdale College in Michigan. After college, she went on to work at the now-shuttered Cambodia Daily in Phnom Penh. She has lived in many places, from Cairo, Egypt, to the South Pacific to San Francisco and Los Angeles and Washington, D.C., but was always drawn back home. When she worked for Politico during the Covid-19 pandemic she returned to the Central Coast “temporarily,” met her husband — a sixth generation Cambria cattle rancher — and is now home to stay.
Free Talk California was born out of a desire to pull back the curtain on the ridiculousness of our Sacramento policymaking. Free Talk California is on Mondays from 1:00 to 2:00 pm.
