The land conservancy of San Luis Obispo county recently completed an 18.4 million dollar conservation easement of Camatta Ranch.
Belonging to the Morrison family, the 32-thousand acre ranch is the home to a variety of endangered wildlife, flora, and fauna. However, some members of the Morrison family were seeking to buy out parts of the ranch for development use.
The conservation easement has helped buy out the other family members, and preserve about 27,000 acres of the ranch.
The ranch’s daily operations of caring for livestock and offering public tours can continue unaltered.
