Continuing today and tomorrow, California state parks is conducting burns of brush and wood piles on the coast.
Burns may be conducted in Morro Bay state park, Montana de Oro state park and east of highway one just south of the San Simeon Creek campground.
The intent is to reduce fuel loads associated with pine pitch canker, drought and standing dead trees. The fuel reduction will decrease the threat of wildfires near communities.
