The Friends of the Bob Jones Trail is calling on community members in San Luis Obispo county to help close the funding gap for the Bob Jones Trail connection project.
This project has seen some revisions in its original plan, realigning part of the segment closer to the US 101, and allowing Caltrans to use their right of the way of the 101 to complete the middle section of the project. This comes at an increased cost, however.
A release by SLOCOG says eighty percent of the funding has been secured, but there is still a deficit in costs. To help reduce this deficit, the Friends of the Bob Jones Trail has launched a community based fundraiser; the fundraiser aims to raise a million dollars by January 30, 2025, and 5.5 million by the 2026-2027 fiscal year.
