The San Luis Obispo police department arrested a resident late last week after an investigation into a threatening social media post.
A release by the department says that on August 28th, they received a notification by the Western State Information Network, a law enforcement entity that provides criminal intelligence to local agencies.
The notification detailed a post made by the suspect, 36-year-old Elijah King of San Luis Obispo. The post said: “I’m going to blow up every synagogue in a 20-mile radius. This is a real threat, call the police and report me for terrorism.”
After an extensive investigation, San Luis Obispo detectives located and arrested King without incident in the parking lot on the 3900 block of S. Higuera.
The district attorney’s office filed formal charges against King earlier that week: felony false bomb threat, and felony hate crime enhancement.
