Highway one remains closed through Big Sur because of big mudslides, but three convoys are being coordinated today by Caltrans and the Monterey County Office of Emergency Services.
The convoys will run north from the closure at 8, 12 noon, and 4 this afternoon, and again on Friday. Residents who would like to join the convoy are told to be at highway one when it goes by and they can join it.
Drabinsky says although the rain has stopped, the mud slides continue as the surface dries out and warms up.
Those convoys begin at the closure at eight, noon and 4 today. They’ll run again on Friday.
