Although school is out, baseball play offs continue for local high school teams.
Last week, Paso Robles beat Edison 6-3. Arroyo Grande beat Sanger 6-4. So, Paso Robles and Arroyo Grande meet Wednesday in the CIF semi-finals. It’s likely that game will be played at 4:30 in Arroyo Grande, but they do make last minute changes.
Templeton beat Immanuel 10-1 Wednesday, so they will play Wednesday against Ridgeview in the Division 3 CIF semi-finals. Clovis beat San Luis 12-8, to eliminate the Tigers.
In softball,
Clovis West beat Paso Robles 15-5 last week for the CIF championship.
On Saturday, the Templeton girls softball team beat Lemoore 18-0. They will play Liberty tomorrow afternoon for the Central Section Championship. Templeton is 18-4. Liberty is 19-6. The Templeton girls cross country team won the Lebens Award for highest GPA among team sports at Templeton high school.
They’re average GPA was 4.0. The boys swim team was second with 3.81. The remarkable thing is that all of the following teams averaged above 3.56:
Boys basketball, girls soccer, girls tennis, girls swim team, softball team and boys tennis.
