Finally some local winners at the Olympic games. Xander Schauffele won the Olympic golf tournament. His caddie is former Greyhound Austin Kaiser. Schauffele’s mother grew up in Japan, but now lives in San Diego. Kaiser’s mom and dad live in San Miguel.
Former Cal Poly pitcher Joey Wagman threw three innings for team Israel at the Olympics. Wagman played for Cal Poly from 2010-2013.
