THE CITY HAS HAD SEVERAL CITY MANAGERS ABRUPTLY LEAVE IN RECENT YEARS. BERGMAN JOINED THE CITY IN 2017 AFTER SERVING AS PLANNING AND BUILDING DIRECTOR OF SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY. HE REPLACED DIANNE THOMPSON, WHO WAS FIRED FOR UNKNOWN REASONS IN JUNE OF 2016.
