So far, 15 people have died as record cold hits Texas and parts of the south and Midwest. The big issue in Texas, the wind power turbines freezing in the cold weather. 23% of the electric power in Texas comes from windmills. Some people died from the cold, and some died from carbon monoxide poisoning as they sat in their cars with the motor running, trying to stay warm. Texans are now using diesel fuel to try to fix the frozen turbines in the windmills.
