THE PASO ROBLES POLICE DEPARTMENT RELEASED A STATEMENT FOR A DUI ARREST AND VEHICLE PURSUIT THAT TOOK PLACE ON SATURDAY, DECEMBER 30TH.
THE RELEASE SAYS AN OFFICER STOPPED A BLUE SUBARU SEDAN THAT WAS SWERVING AND TRAVELING AT HIGH SPEEDS ON THE 46. THE VEHICLE THEN ATTEMPTED TO FLEE ON THE SOUTHBOUND US 101, SHOWING WILLFUL DISREGARD FOR SAFETY OF OTHER VEHICLES AND PROPERTY. THE RELEASE SAYS THE VEHICLE CRASHED MULTIPLE TIMES NEAR MAIN STREET, CAUSING PROPERTY DAMAGE TO STREET SIGNS. THE VEHICLE EVENTUALLY STOPPED ON RAMADA DRIVE. THE PASO ROBLES POLICE DEPARTMENT ARRESTED THE DRIVER, 32-YEAR-OLD MATTHEW BROWN OF PASO ROBLES. AN INVESTIGATION LED TO THE DISCOVERY THAT HE WAS UNDER THE INFLUENCE OF CONTROLLED SUBSTANCES, AND HAS A FELONY WARRANT AND MULTIPLE MISDEMEANOR WARRANTS FOR HIS ARREST. A FEMALE ADULT PASSENGER OF HIS VEHICLE WAS RELEASED FROM THE SCENE UNINJURED. BROWN WAS BOOKED INTO THE SAN LUIS OBISPO COUNTY JAIL ON MULTIPLE CHARGES, INCLUDING DUI DRUGS AND FELONY EVASION OF A PEACE OFFICER.
