In the November 2025 meeting, mayor pro tem Gregory requested a discussion for term limits for the Paso Robles city council.
That discussion was brought forward in last night’s meeting for consideration. City manager Chris Huot presented council with options to applying term limits, such as their length, their cooling off period, which offices they would apply to, and how partial terms and appointments should apply. Council received comments both in favor of and against term limits.
Council agreed that there are some merits to term limits, but councilmembers Chris Bausch and Fred Strong said that the city’s elections effectively serve as ‘term limits.’
The council voted unanimously to take no further action.
