Memorial Day 2025 Press Release
Paso Fire & Emergency Services has released a statement with safety advice for this Memorial Day weekend.
The department says temperatures are warming up, and increased crowds are expected this Memorial Day. Remember to stay cool, hydrated, and wear sunscreen.
Paso Fire says be well rested, alert, and do not drive impaired when traveling. When enjoying activities in the water, such as boarding, boating, or surfing, do not swim alone or leave children unattended, make sure someone knows where you are going and what time you intend on returning, and wear a coast guard-approved life jacket.
And for barbecue safety, ensure you are never grilling indoors or unattended – keep the grill out in the open, away from the house, and away from anything else that can catch fire.
Paso Fire says situational awareness is key to safety.
