Burn permits are now available for the city of Atascadero.
Atascadero Fire & Emergency Services officially announced the fire hazard reduction burn season officially opens today. As a reminder to potential burners from the fire department: whether a burn on a day is permissive or not changes each day, and is determined by the California air resources control board.
The fire department will determine burn status before 8 am each day, and burning will never be allowed within the city. The fire department will post burn statuses to an app called “before you burn,” and will update the notice if burn conditions change.
