Paso Robles police arrest a woman suspected of starting a vegetation fire in the Salinas riverbed. The fire broke out Saturday morning.
Firefighters and police responded around 9:09 to 3200 Sulfur Springs road, just north of the highway 46 east bridge. Firefighters found an area 20 x 20 feet of brush and trees actively burning. They contained the flames within ten minutes. It took them another hour to extinguish the fire.
Officials determined the fire was intentionally set. The first firefighters on the scene said someone had fled the area. Police arrested resident Samantha Parker on suspicion of starting the fire and narcotic crimes. She was booked in the county jail, but was released by early Sunday afternoon.
The investigation into the fire Saturday morning is continuing.
