Protests continue in San Luis Obispo. They held a demonstration Saturday afternoon at the county courthouse. The peaceful demonstration was promoted as a “silent sit-in for black lives.”
That was the fourth consecutive demonstration in four days.
San Luis Obispo mayor Heidi Harmon’s son was not there. He is reportedly protesting in Portland where the protesters got violent again early yesterday morning. Several thousand protesters in downtown Portland breached a fence surrounding the federal building, causing authorities to declare a riot early yesterday.
Portland police and federal officers surrounded the federal courthouse and tried to clear the area around 2:30 early yesterday morning.
The protests in Portland have occurred nearly every night for the past two months. In the last few weeks, protesters demonstrating and rioting because President Trump sent in federal troops to protect the federal buildings in downtown Portland.
