San Luis Obispo county health department giving its weekend report on Covid-19. 512 new cases over the weekend. So far, 15,600 county residents have tested positive for the corona-virus since they began testing in mid-March. Most have fully have recovered.
Seven new deaths reported. The fatalities range in age from 50 to 100. Since last March, 135 people with the virus have died in San Luis Obispo county. The average age of those fatalities is over 85.
The inventory of beds in the intensive care unit is good. 61% of ICU beds are open and available in San Luis Obispo county, although the governor’s shelter-at-home order remain in effect.
Testing began this week for people 75 and over, but you need a reservation. And they’re in great demand. The health department says you can make appointments at sloready.org or by calling (805) 543-2444.
