The county behavioral health department has been selected to receive a $21 million grant from the state.
Supported by proposition 1, the grant will be used to purchase and renovate an existing facility in Paso Robles, offering a comprehensive range of behavioral health services and resources to youth and adults. This is a new “pathways home” project, looking to address gaps in mental health and substance use disorder services.
According to the behavioral health department, the project will include a new 16-bed psychiatric health facility, the first adult crisis residential treatment program in SLO county to offer short-term support to community members navigating through a mental health crisis, and the first youth crisis residential treatment program. The facility is planned to be renovated on top of an existing facility at 416 Spring street.
There will be a presentation for this project in the February 3rd Paso Robles city council meeting.
