This week, we’re looking at the recent grand jury report on the failure of the Paso Robles school district leadership during the administration of superintendent Chris Williams, from 2014-2018.
Trustee Chris Bausch says you can access the 28 page report if you’d like to examine it yourself. It’s available on the district website and on KPRL’s website.
The grand jury report has three parts.
The first address the school district leadership.
The second addresses the budget reserve management. During Williams tenure the budget reserve dropped from $6 million dollars to under one million. That does not include several million the district received from FEMA due to damage caused at Flamson by the San Simeon earthquake.
The final part addresses the aquatic complex.
Chris Bausch asked for a special board meeting to discuss the grand jury report, but president Stephanie Ulibarri decided it wasn’t in the best interest for the board to meet before December 15th, so the newly elected board may discuss it.
Besides the financial collapse of the district, there are also allegations of nepotism, over hiring, start programs without adequate funding and inadequate oversight by the county office of education.
