The world death count related to coronavrius surpasses four million people. The World Health Organizations saying the death count hit that milestone this week.
You may remember that when news of the coronavirus first hit, the warning signs were prolific. Some described it as the worst pandemic in history.
How does that 4 million figure compare to the Spanish flu epidemic one hundred years ago? Well, back in that 1917 flu epidemic, between 40 and 50 million people died.
Although some say the true figure is closer to 100 million. Remote areas in Asia, Africa, South America and Indonesia did not keep accurate records of the fatalities.
So, back then with the world’s population at two billion, the fatalities were 40-50 million.
Today, with a world population of eight billion. We’ve had four million die.
