Redistricting is changing elections at the local level for supervisors, and going all the way up to congress.
Right now, the north county is represented by congressman Salud Carbajal, who is based in Santa Barbara. Congressman Jimmy Panetta of Monterey county says that will change soon. He represents the 20th district, but he’s running for election in the 19th district in the June primary.
The new 19th district will stretch from suburban San Jose to Santa Cruz and south along the coast to include Paso Robles and Atascadero.
Congressman Jimmy Panetta is the son of former congressman Leon Panetta and his wife Sylvia, who ran his office. The Panetta’s are democrats.
Running for the newly drawn congressional seat on the republican side, Dalila Epperson of Monterey. We’ll talk with her soon here on KPRL.
