The results from the primary elections are not official, but they’re clear. Supervisor Bruce Gibson is facing Dr. Bruce Jones in the general election. Retired Colonel John Whitworth says he is supporting Dr. Bruce Jones against Gibson.
Auslen says the campaign leading to the primary election was challenging. Auslen says Bruce Gibson reached out and asked him for his endorsement, but Geof declined. He wants Gibson defeated, but he says he’s waiting to hear from the republican party before he endorses Dr. Bruce Jones.
So, time will tell if those voters who supported Geof Auslen will support Dr. Bruce Jones for supervisor in the second district. With Lynn Compton’s loss in the fourth district, the second district race has become a critical race for the future of San Luis Obispo county.
