Caltrans crews are reportedly making good progress in their efforts to repair and reopen highway one in Big Sur.
All the debris material that flowed down the Rat Creek Canyon has been removed. That’s about 70 thousand cubic yards of trees, rocks and sediment.
Now, they’re going to fill the canyon with 25,000 cubic yards of fill to build support for the new road over Rat Creek. They are also expanding the drainage system.
