The weather will be hot in the north county through Friday. High temperatures will hover near 100 through Friday, then drop into the low to mid 90’s on Saturday. Next week, highs will be in the 80’s.
Because of the high temperatures and potentially strong winds, PG and E shut off power yesterday to about 11 thousand customers in Butte county.
Angela Lombardi of PG and E says another 54,000 customers face power shutoff later today due to the hot dry weather and high winds forecast. She called the shut-offs a last resort.
Red flag warnings for extreme fire weather conditions were issued for the northern and central areas of the state late last night through today by the national weather service.
