A fire on the fourth of July destroys a home in San Miguel. Fireworks started a fire next to the house, but the fireworks did not belong to the family. Gonzales Vasquez and his six children safely got out of the house before it burned.
The family is currently being sheltered in Fuente de Agua Viva Church in San Miguel.
The North County Christian Thrift Store in Atascadero is accepting donations such as clothing, shoes, and blankets on behalf of the family. But the family really needs a place to stay while they look for permanent housing.
A Go Fund Me account has raised five and a half thousand dollars as of six this morning. That’s from 75 people who donated. The goal is $25,000 dollars.
