Tuesday afternoon, a Watsonville man led CHP officers on a high speed chase from Atascadero to San Luis Obispo.
Luciano Lopez was driving recklessly in an infinity sedan when other motorists began calling 911.
That was around 3:20 Tuesday afternoon.
Lopez was “swerving all over the road with the right tire deflated, and driving on a rim.”
CHP officers attempted to stop him at San Anselmo road, but Lopez continued to drive recklessly in an attempt to evade officers.
The CHP deployed a spike strip at the bottom of the Cuesta grade. The car crashed on the highway near Broad and Santa Rosa streets.
Lopez was taken into custody on a variety of charges including driving under the influence of a drug.
