Caltrans is going to start work soon on highway 46 east between Shandon and Cholame.
Ground breaking will be held Friday for the five miles stretch from the Shandon rest area to just east of the Jack Ranch Cafe.
The project to improve the highway 46/41 interchange is expected to begin in 2024.
