Highway One remains closed along the Big Sur coast line. Jim Shivers is with Caltrans. Shivers says the nature of Big Sur creates issues for Caltrans and keeping Highway One open. Shivers says the recent slide in the Rat Creek area was caused in large part by the Dolan fire.
It may be months before Highway One reopens because of that dramatic slide near the Rat Creek area.
