More than three hundred people, mostly students, crowded into the multipurpose theater at Paso Robles High School Wednesday night for LGBTQ forum. The student leaders introduced themselves and mentioned the pronouns by which they identify themselves. One student proclaimed the LGBTQ Forum a celebration of “Love and Unity” at Paso Robles High School a response to the recent desecrtation of an LGBTQ flag and mask. The forum included students, teachers and a few members of the community.
PRJUSD Student Services Director Tom Harrington says he attended the froum to show support for Bearcats. He said, “I tell them, you may not like all your fellow students, but you need to respect their right to get an education at PRHS.”
Tuesday morning an LGBTQ mask was found desecrated at the high school. Principal Anthony Overton called the desecration of gay pride mask this week “Hateful, intolerant and inexcusable.”
An investigation into the mask desecration continues.
