In addition to the sizable vegetation fire that scorched over 1,600 acres near Shandon, firefighters this weekend had to respond to multiple other incidents.
At the 3000 block of Lucas lane in Paso Robles, firefighters battled a house fire on Friday. The blaze was put out within an hour of emergency crews arriving. Members of the family were inside when the fire broke out, but managed to escape without suffering any injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
Another fire broke out near Interlake road and Eagle lane in the Oak Shores area. The fire grew to about 38 acres before forward progress was stopped. No structures or homes were threatened from this incident.
And another fire broke out in San Miguel at Lowe’s Canyon road. The fire was 100% contained at just a few acres, but there is no word on the cause. No injuries were reported.
In Creston, a fire erupted in a barn at 9925 Huer Huero road late in the evening. The fire spread to nearby vegetation after destroying the structure, but was extinguished and contained before it spread further.
