Paso Robles city Economic Development Manager Paul Sloan talked Tuesday night about the city applying for designation as a space port.
The only space port on the west coast is the Mojave desert.
Sloan explained that a space port is not necessarily for the vertical launch of rockets. Many of the launches will be horizontal by planes similar to what are now flying into the Paso Robles airport.
