Work to repair Highway 1 through Big Sur includes work for communications technicians replacing cables which slid down the mountainside into the pacific ocean.
Recently two AT & T technicians used an industrial version of a Nerf gun to shoot a temporary communications cable across a 150-wide canyon near Rat Creek. It’s the only line of communications for those living near Big Sur. Their effort restored communications to the remote area of Big Sur.
