The San Luis Obispo county board of supervisors voted 3 – 2 on Tuesday to approve the fee schedule for 2024, and fiscal year 2024-25.
Around 25% of departments will be increasing their fees in 2024, with staff saying the increases are to cover the cost of providing permits and other services. Supervisor Dawn Ortiz-Legg requested the board further discuss the proposed fee increases for building and planning in another board meeting next year. This was a part of her motion, which was approved 3 – 2 with supervisors Debbie Arnold and John Peschong dissenting.
The planning and building department fees will be discussed in January or February.
