January 20, 2026 Meeting Agenda with Links to Reports
The Templeton Community Services District’s next regular meeting is tonight.
On the agenda is a review and proposed adoption of the CSD’s fire code with amendments. The CSD receives an updated fire code from the state of California every three years, and must adopt it with amendments made to fit the local jurisdiction.
The CSD has added a section to the fire code regarding fireworks, based on discussions from the September 2nd meeting. In the meeting, a motion failed to pass that would ban the use of safe and sane fireworks in Templeton, and the board directed staff instead to update the fire code to impose tighter restrictions on the time in which fireworks can be sold, and when they can be used. These changes are reflected in the proposed new fire code.
The code only allows the use of safe and sane fireworks on the fourth of July, and only on private property. The sale is also prohibited outside to July 1st through July 4th.
