County health officer Penny Borenstein confirms eight new cases of coronavirus in the county.
That brings the total number since the pandemic began to 181.
135 people had the virus and recovered.
40 other people are recovering at home.
Five are hospitalized, but none are in ICU.
So 395 hospital beds in the county are available in the event of a surge.
And then there’s the additional 165 beds at the government alternate care site at Cal Poly’s rec center. And that can be expanded to 930. But today, only five people hospitalized in the county.
Tomorrow in Paso Robles, a protest will be held at noon at the downtown city park against the shut down. The public is invited to attend.
