California Farm Bureau leaders met with members of congress and key officials of the US Department of Agriculture and other agencies in Washington, D.C., this month.
The meetings took place as California Agriculture faces severe challenges from drought and water shortages, surging fertilizer prices and supply chain disruptions stranding farm exports. “There’s a perfect storm brewing that could pretty traumatically affect our food supply,” warned Farm Bureau president Jamie Johansson.
